Pond Interpretation Board 2009
The idea for a display board came as a response to many requests from visitors and Lingfield Primary school who bring children to look around the Nature Reserves.

At the unveiling ceremony on Saturday, 26 September, Anne Richards, speaking on behalf of the Nature Reserves, welcomed Peter Ainsworth MP. She thanked him for his support of the Reserves over the years and also present and former Parish, District and County Councillors for their support.

It had taken 18 months to gather funding from the S.C.C. Local Committee for Tandridge and other anonymous donors. Since first excavated in 2000, the Millennium pond had been transformed from a bleak sea of yellow sticky clay to a pond full of wildlife.

The design and illustration of the board had been instigated by John Madden, with the involvement of the rest of the Management Committee. Bill Butcher was the artist illustrator and Yan Sawicki the product designer.

Peter Ainsworth unveiled the board revealing full colour pictures for easy identification of the different species which live in, around or fly over the pond.

He then invited everyone to join in the second of the day's activities - the Seed Hunt & Wildflower Planting
