Wildflower Planting Project
Saturday 26 September
the second part of the day's activities.
Over 50 visitors, including 29 children, registered to join in the fun. The children collected their special BBC Breathing Places carrier bags and went hunting to find many seeds and berries, particularly their favourites of acorns, hazel and beech nuts, wild plums, medlars, blackberries and, of course, conkers.
Free flower pots and growing instructions were available to take home.
Over 500 wildflower plants were put into the Wildflower Meadow and Community Orchard by the leaders and volunteers, ready for next Spring.
Everyone enjoyed a busy time on a beautifully, sunny Autumn afternoon on the Lingfield Nature Reserves.
